Raining Monday afternoon

Dinner of Sunday. Mee pok with fish ball, fish cake and tiny teeny bit of minced pork. 6.5/10. Quite a lot of $3.

Had porridge again this afternoon. Opened a couple of cans of dace with black beans and minced pork. Decided to try making steamed eggs. Turned out to be over-steamed and could have had more taste. Not bad lah still okay!

Now it's raining quite a bit, it's nice to enjoy a quiet rainy afternoon all by myself but it's quite impossible in Bukit Batok. Sigh.

Thursday and Friday's Lunch Preparation

Thinking of getting this trolley for the kitchen, but called up IKEA and was told to have sold out.

For Thursday's lunch, there was some leftover pak choi in the fridge so I stir fried them with fish cake. Didn't turn out that bad, a bit over-seasoned though.

Thursday lunch with porridge, stir fried pak choi and scrambled eggs.

For today's lunch, I decided to prepare porridge again. Haha, didn't burn it like what I used to.

Ingredients prepared for sambal belachan kang kong. I bought another can of sambal belacan from Fairprice to see whether I can achieve better results than the one from Prime.

Frying, I ended up adding to much paste and the kang kong was over-seasoned (again). Gotta learn from this.

Friday's lunch. I know... scrambled eggs again but there was (and still) no rack to place the microwave which is still lying unopened in the storeroom, so I can't really heat up the canned food.

Century Egg & Fish Cake Porridge

Yes a successful attempt at making porridge again for lunch today. Threw in century egg and fish cake with a bit of sesame oil and salt and let it boil for a good 15 mins. It does look brownish due to the century egg but it is tasteful and nice!

Reached Bukit Batok at this time on Wednesday.

Seinfeld on a Wednesday morning.

Preparing the ingredients for instant noodles.

Throwing the assam laksa powder into the pot...

... and the vegetables too.

Turned out to be rather nice, quite a success compared to the first attempt.

Hehe accidentally created a mess.

Frying eggs for Thursday morning breakfast.

Scrambled eggs with fried hot-dogs.

Was intending to eat while surfing the web, but ended up at the couch watching TV.

Didn't know what to have for lunch, and didn't want to go out because I've got no slippers. Checked the cabinet and the fridge for food, eventually decided to prepare porridge. The previous attempt at porridge failed, so I'm curious to find out how the second time will turn out to be.

Stirring and stirring.

Haha didn't turn out too bad.

Canned mackerel, pork and century egg.

In the midst of steaming process.

Induction cooker turned out to be rather useful.

Chinese styled porridge with dishes. Just a tad salty though.

Success!

Fantastic speed from StarHub

I wonder how much will they be charging us at the end of the month.

The second day at Bukit Batok

The snack before lunch on Monday, 香味肉乾.

My Monday lunch, corn flakes with full cream Australian milk and grapes.

Having lunch while watching Sunrise videos. Can't wait to watch it there in real time.

Raining later in the afternoon on Monday.

Our lovely home. The kitchen...

... and living room.

Defrosting the shrimp wanton and tofu for Tuesday's lunch.

Added the powder to 700ml (supposed to be 600ml) for the wanton soup.

Okay the wantons were added to the boiling water.

Gotta boil them for 3 minutes.

Two big pieces of tofu, should have just prepared one piece - I couldn't finish them.

Cut into eight pieces of cubes.

Frying them in just a bit of oil and salt.

Decided to clear the shitake mushrooms in the fridge.

Threw them for frying together with the tofu.

There you have it, my lunch.

Taking my lunch while watching Seinfeld.

Too lazy to do the washing.

The first morning...

View from the kitchen window.

Scrambled eggs (4) with shitake and chilli. Realised floor was slightly oily after frying and ended up mopping it. And with the washing, it seemed like too much work just for a simple breakfast.
